Discovering Neoi Proi
What to see and do
The benefits this enormous retreat-like community has to offer lie in its location; it serves as a nodal point to the momentous surrounding sights. Ten kilometers to the west is the historic settlement of Palioi Poroi, where the original residents of Neoi Poroi came from. This traditional village dates back to the 17th and 18th century and is now surrounded by lush woods and small chapels. The central Byzantine Church of Agios Georgios can be found in the town’s main square. If you’re feeling adventurous, you may follow the hiking trails that connect the town of Neoi Poroi with Palioi Poroi or even Old Panteleimon.
Just 3.5 kilometers away is another popular seaside town called Platamon, with a beautiful waterfront for strolling, and eclectic, top-notch eateries. History enthusiasts will take great pleasure in visiting the Castle of Platamon and the ancient city of Dion.
